That’s me

A quote that has had a very strong influence on me is “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain” by Vivian Greene. I always believe in enjoying the moment and living it to the fullest.  Most of the times I am looking out for people who really need a friend and help them out. I like encouraging people, especially my friends when they get opportunities. Probably this is why I was the Peer Mentor for my class. I also like spending time outdoors to stay fit and have fun. I am a very enthusiastic person when it comes to learning something new and keep trying innovative and interesting stuff. I am a history buff and love to experiment things. I am not very cranky or stubborn but a bit naughty.

Being creative and fit is what makes up my personality which is also pretty fun and nice. From a very young age, I have tried out many hobbies that has given me a well-rounded outlook. I can now say that I am good at painting, manga art, martial arts, dancing, sports, baking, debating, typography and writing.

My creative side is the strongest and gives me a lot of joy and satisfaction. Painting and drawing came naturally to me from when I was 5 years old and started playing around with colors. I improved my strokes and techniques initially through painting classes. I have exhibited my paintings in many art shows. Now I am a self-taught Manga artist [a Japanese Comic Art form] and working towards a solo exhibition.

I also started my self-defense training around the same time to keep myself brave and strong. Now, I am a successful Brown Belt champion in the School of Indian Karate and have won many Katta and Kumte competitions. So, if anyone tries to mess around with me, they are going to have a tough time!

Dance has given me grace. I enjoy dancing and grooving to the music. My training in Bharatanatyam has helped me explore Indian culture that I am very proud to be a part of. Having performed in many prestigious sabhas like Chinnakalanadam, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, ADA Rangamandira etc., I have felt a connect with my country through my dance. I have recently performed in Lauf, Germany too as an Indian cultural ambassador, where I was part of the INDO – DEUTSCH Student Exchange Program. After every performance I feel happy that I am able to convey a story with a message through dance.

Wait …There’s more to me! But for now…That’s me
